What's included in the price?
As a mother myself, I know that there is so much value in having a full set of digital images that you can keep and cherish forever. I often re-visit images of my son and re-print them, hang them in different places or create new collages and I want to give my clients the flexibility to do the same whenever they wish. My prices are not just for my time but also include a selection of the very best images from your session, presented to you on a USB stick. This gives you the flexibility to print any size, any time and revisit your photos as your family expands and grows.
I also think that printing your images is SO important. These are keepsakes for future generations. Professional printing labs are used to turn your digital files into prints, as it is very important to me that you have an image in your living room that looks as great as it does online. Cheap high street print shops will not do the images justice.
You can also choose to have your favourite image printed on a beautiful wooden block. I like to offer my clients something that you cannot buy elsewhere. These are unique, handmade blocks that are a perfect gift or keepsake from your session with me.
Which areas do you travel to at an extra price?
All of the below and everywhere inbetween:
Maidenhead, Reading, Henley, Marlow, Slough, Beaconsfield, High Wycombe, Gerrards Cross, Fifield, Windsor, Ascot, Bracknell, Hounslow, West Drayton, Uxbridge, Watford, Guildford, Basingstoke, Chesham, Amersham, Wokingham, St Albans. If you live outside of these areas, please contact me for a price. I am happy to travel but it does increase the price so please contact me to discuss.
Where are the sessions held?
The newborn, baby, cake smash and maternity sessions are generally held at my home studio in Holyport. With all of my equipment set up and ready to go, you can just arrive and enjoy a hot drink, put your feet up on my sofa and watch as I work my magic with your little ones.
How long do the newborn sessions last?
Each session is different, some newborns will sleep throughout and the session is shorter but most do not. You should allow around 4 hours which gives us time to set up, baby to be fed, breaks for crying, messy accidents (which do happen), different prop set ups and the odd tea break. Little Ones and Cake Smash sessions are normally shorter due to sleep patterns and the attention span of the toddlers. An Outdoor session will depend on how many children there are.
What do I need to do to prepare?
Just relax! I have all outfits, props and equipment for newborns and babies and we can discuss your ideas and preferences for any shoot beforehand.
What age is best for newborn photography?
My newborn shoots are usually held within the first two weeks of the babies arrival (12 days preferably). Babies are a lot more receptive to being moved and dressed in different ways at this stage, so it ensures we get many beautiful sleepy poses. Please contact me when you are pregnant so that I can pencil in your due date and then once the baby is here we will work out the best day (if the first 12 days isn't possible we will figure out an alternative). I have photographed newborn babies up to 8 weeks old, it is possible, they just take a lot longer to get to sleep!
Do I feed and dress the baby before the newborn session?
It is important to have a baby that is full up and sleepy for the photo shoot. I will contact you before the newborn session to discuss how we ensure this is the case. We plan for your arrival for when baby is ready to feed and likely to then go into a deep sleep so you can chill out and I can work my magic.
Who provides the cake for the cake smash?
I can provide a cake (I use Amelia Lucas Boutique, they are beautiful cakes. www.amelialucasboutiquecakes.com) or you can bring your own.
When do I pay?
A non refundable deposit of £100 is required upon booking with the balance paid on or before the day of your session. I can't work on any images until I have full payment.
What if my baby is ill?
We can reschedule if your baby is ill for the day of the photo shoot. Coughs and colds I normally say lets go ahead (for older kids). I have become an expert at photo shopping snotty noses!
